A Camp for Kids with Serious Medical Conditions!
The mission of The Painted Turtle is to provide a year-round, life-changing environment and authentic camp experience for children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses. The Painted Turtle supports children’s medical needs, inspires them to reach beyond their illnesses, and provides care, education, and respite for their families. All campers and families attend completely free of charge.

July 2019 at The Painted Turtle – Campers joined us for summer fun and took part in a variety of activities including ropes course, horseback riding, fishing, arts and crafts, archery, zip-lining, and more!

June 2, 2018 at The Painted Turtle – Families joined us for a weekend of camp fun, with the opportunity to meet one another, share their experiences, meet the CHLA CAH Clinic staff and make new friends! Camp with friends and family is the best time. Many kids return the summer after on their for sleepaway camp.
