
Mimi Kim, MD, MSc
Mimi graduated from Brown University with a B.Sc. in Biology and Dartmouth Medical School. She obtained her Pediatrics training at RUSH Medical Center and Pediatric Endocrinology training back at Brown – Hasbro Children’s Hospital. Mimi spent a year at the NIH Clinical Center doing clinical research in CAH, before joining Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Pediatric Endocrinology in 2009. She is the Co-Director of the CAH Comprehensive Care Clinic and enjoys providing a comprehensive program of care for patients and their families living with CAH.
Nozomi yamashita, MD
Nozomi is Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Keck School of Medicine of University of Southern California (USC) and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). Nozomi attended University of Hawaii Medical School and completed both pediatric residency training and pediatric endocrinology fellowship at CHLA. She has been conducting research in cognition and development in pediatric and young adult patients with CAH at CHLA with Dr. Kim and her team.


Norma Martinez
Clinical Research Coordinator
Norma joined CHLA in 1998 and has been working with clinical trials since the early 2000s. She loves working with patients and their families in clinical trials as well as investigator lead studies.

Josh recently graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Molecular Biology. He is passionate about clinical research, pediatrics, and global health. He hopes to pursue a career in medicine to serve patients and their families.


Julianne Nguyen, BS

Julianne is a recent USC graduate with a major in Human Biology and minor in Healthcare Studies. She is passionate about diabetes, cancer, and obesity research and plans to continue her research as an aspiring physician.
Justin Nguyen, BS
Research Assistant
Justin Nguyen graduated from Yale University (BF ’22) with a B.S. in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology. His research interests include genetic conditions, mental health, and childhood development. He enjoys working with families in clinical settings and spends his off days with his two cats, Topeka and Potato. You can catch him on a walk at LA State Historic Park!

Mark Liang completed medical school at University of California, Irvine and is currently completing his psychiatry residency at USC Keck. He is a long-standing collaborator on projects addressing adiposity, hyperandrogenism, and mental health.

Harshini is a third-year medical student at Western University of Health Sciences, COMP. She aspires to pursue a career in pediatrics and is passionate about preventive medicine, healthcare advocacy, and research aimed at advancing pediatric health and improving patient care.

Ben is currently studying at Western University of Health Sciences. His research interests include physical activity, food choices, and adiposity in CAH. As a research assistant, he enjoys continuously learning and interacting with other researchers.

Ashley is an undergraduate student at USC majoring in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention with a double minor in AI Applications and Health, Science, and Aging. She is on the pre-dental track and is interested in leveraging data to explore how early development and aging affects health and susceptibility to diseases.
